Don't Forget Me Cobber Program Remembering the battle of Fromelles, July 1916

The Battle of Fromelles resulted in over 5,500 Australians skilled, wounded or taken prisoner in 24 hours. This disastrous battle was largely ignored after the First World War untile the discovery of the burial site of Australian and British troops killed at Fromelles who had lain missing for nearly 100 years.

This program explores the reasons for the battle, individual stories of courage and mateship, the historical research and persistence that led to the discovery and identification of the troops and the recognition of the place of Fromelles in Austrlaian wartime history
