The Spirit of Anzac Program The Future Of The Past

The Shrine was built to commemorate the First World War but has since become the focal point for commemorations of all subsequent conflicts. The evolution of the Shrine is also a history of Australia’s involvement in war and peacekeeping since 1914. This program focuses on the legend of ANZAC, the values it embodies and its contemporary relevance to ideas of national identity. Visual literacy and Thinking Curriculum activities challenge students to think about Australia’s military history from a Values Education perspective. The program incorporates interactive learning through the analysis and interpretation of wartime artefacts and imagery. This program includes a tour of the building and a service of commemoration.

Sessions run 10-11.30am, 11.30-1pm & 1pm-2.30pm Monday-Friday
