A Camera on the Somme
A Bendigo Art Gallery travelling exhibition 14 October 2010 - 6 February 2011

The photographs featured in this exhibition were taken with a Kodak Brownie camera during the First World War (1914-18) by two brothers, Jack and Bert Grinton, who fought with the 1st Australian Infantry Force. The negatives had been stored in a shed on the family farm for over 90 years. A camera on the Somme is enhanced by family diaries, medals, postcards and maps.
