6am Dawn Service

On the 99th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, join millions across the world to honour Australian service and sacrifice. One minute of silence will be observed. Arrive by 4.30am.

9am ANZAC Day March

Thousands of veterans, their descendants and current serving personnel will march down St Kilda Road, starting at the intersection of Flinders and Swanston Streets and concluding at the Shrine of Remembrance. Unit wreaths will be laid at the Shrine progressively during the March which will conclude at approximately 12.45pm.

1pm Commemorative Service

At the conclusion of the March a service will take place on the Shrine Forecourt, including an Address from the Governor of Victoria.

Ray of Light Ceremony

Participate in a ray of light ceremony, running every half hour after the completion of the commemorative service.

Opening Hours

Sanctuary: 6.45 - 7.45am and 2.30 - 5pm
Visitors Centre: 7am - 5pm

Accessibility

Due to the number of people expected to attend the Dawn Service extra viewing screens will be installed around the Shrine Reserve. A screen will also be installed in the Visitor Centre Entrance Courtyard for people with disabilities.

An Auslan interpreter will be located next to the lecturn and in the Visitor Centre Entrance Courtyard during the Dawn Service.

Extra services in Swanston Street:
For passengers transferring from connecting services in Swanston Street at Bourke, Collins and Flinders Streets, there is an approximate 2 minute service from Melbourne Central to Domain Interchange starting at 5:02 and ending at 5.35.

Routes 86 & 96
1. Due to the track works at Victoria Parade & Nicholson Street, passengers will need to transfer to the route 112 at Brunswick Street.
2. Due to the track works at Victoria Parade & Nicholson Street, passengers walk to the connecting tram at Albert Road & Nicholson Street then to connecting services at Swanston Street.

The Dawn Service commences on the Shrine Forecourt at 6am (assemble from 4.30am). The Official Wreath Laying Service commences at 8:15am (assemble at 7:45am) The ANZAC Day March along St Kilda Road starts at approximately 9am and concludes at the Shrine by 1pm for the Commemorative Service.
