The Shrine of Remembrance is Victoria’s national memorial to those who have served, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Victorian Unit Associations and Battalions hold annual ceremonies and wreath layings to commemorate the service and achievements of their members. Quite often, their ceremony takes place around their Remembrance Tree, planted in the Shrine Reserve as a growing memorial to their Association. Some ceremonies take place in the Sanctuary or around other memorials in the Shrine Reserve, such as the World War 2 Memorial or Eternal Flame.
Members of the public and school groups are welcome to join ceremonies and wreath layings. For more information about attending a ceremony, please contact the Shrine on (03) 9661 8100 or email reception@shrine.org.au
