Eyewitness: Australia's Second World War Correspondents

Eastern Visitor Centre 9 February 2007 - 15 April 2007

Some of Australia's best known World War II journalists and war correspondents were Chester Wilmot, Kenneth Slessor, Alan Moorhead, George Johnston, Rohan Rivett, Douglas Lockwood, George Silk and Osmar White. They reported great moments of the war including Kokoda, Tobruk, the German surrender in Rheims, Hiroshima after the atomic bomb and many others.

Eyewitness will feature audio tours including original soundtrack, archival stills and film footage and family memorabilia.

This exhibition was developed in consultation with Garrie Hutchinson, the author of Eyewitness: Australians Write from the Front Line, 2005.
