The 2/8th Australian Infantry Battalion was raised at the start of the Second World War. They served in North Africa, the Mediterranean and New Guinea.
The Battalion remembers the service of its members in November each year. The Battalion suffered 94 killed and 272 wounded during the Second World War.
The 2/8th Australian Infantry Battalion is supported by students and staff from Macarthur Street Primary School.
