The Armed Merchant Cruisers & Landing Ships Infantry Association of Victoria will honour the veterans and acknowledge the serving members of HMA Ships Westralia, Kanimbla, Manoora and Assault.

AMCs were merchant ships converted for naval service with the addition of armour and guns, for self-defence in supply convoys. With limited success in this role some were repurposed as Landing Ships to serve in troop transport roles. HMAS Assault was a Navy training centre specialising in amphibious assaults, characteristic of the Allied offensives in the Pacific theatre of the Second World War.
