    The Consolidated Catalina was a versatile flying boat that entered RAAF service in February 1941. With an eight man crew capable of carrying 20 people, the "Cats" were used for reconnaissance missions, bombing, mine laying, dropping supplies and air/sea rescues. They were retired from service in 1952.

    The Catalina Branch of the Royal Australian Air Force Association (Victoria) will be supported by students and staff of Wesley College, as participants in the Shrine's Adopt an Ex-Service Organisation program. This partnership fosters relationships and enables schools to carry on the legacy of their chosen Association.

    The National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association of Australia was established in June 1995, with branches in all states and territories. They honour the memory and sacrifice of all those who served during the Malayan Emergency, Indonesian Confrontation and in Malaya, Borneo or Malaysia since the Second World War.

    The National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association will be supported by students and staff of Thomas Carr College, as participants in the Shrine's Adopt an Ex-Service Organisation program.
