    'Resistance’ and ‘Underground’ are names used to describe the various secret organisations that arose in European states under enemy occupation during the Second World War. Many Australian servicemen and women gave aid to the Resistance, other Australians owed their freedom and lives to it. Discover the stories of some of these individuals who, through accident or design, found themselves battling the enemy using unconventional means.

    This day includes a march up the Shrine Forecourt and a wreath laying service in remembrance of the men and women from Australia and Greece that fought and fell in the Battle of Crete in May 1941.

    To pay tribute to all Boer War veterans that fought in our First War as a Nation 1899-1902. A commemoration service will commence with a march up to the Eternal Flame by Boer War veterans' descendants, followed by a band, Creswick Light Horse, Boy Scouts, and Girl Guides. All Boer War descendant family members and anyone that has an interest are most welcome.
