Since the start of the 20th century, there has been a long tradition of Greek-Australians serving in the nation's Armed Forces.
In the 1970s, the Hellenic Sub Branch of the Returned and Services League was founded to promote the contribution of Hellenes to the Australian War Effort. This included during the First World War, the Second World War and the Vietnam War.
