Sanctuary, Shrine of Remembrance,

While our doors are temporarily closed we will continue to honour the service and sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of Victorians. A commemorative broadcast will be streamed at 10am on behalf of the Royal Australian Navy Recruits.

All are welcome to join us in remembrance via the link below.

A pilgrimage to the Shrine of Remembrance that links a sailor’s experience at Recruit School with current and past members of the Defence Community.

The recruits learn about the Shrine then take part in a wreath laying ceremony in the Sanctuary.

The wreath laying service recognises the contribution made by the Royal Australian Navy to Australia’s national security.

Shrine Guides then escort recruits through the Galleries of Remembrance where aspects of Australia’s Defence Force peace making deployments and peace keeping missions since Federation are discussed.
