Discover how service and sacrifice have shaped our present and continue to guide our future on this special guided tour at the Shrine of Remembrance.

Shaped by Sacrifice invites visitors to explore the stories behind the Shrine’s powerful spaces and objects. Along the way, our guides will share personal reflections and historical insights, revealing how acts of service have influenced social, cultural and national change.

Opened in 1934, the Shrine of Remembrance was founded as the National War Memorial of Victoria. Today, it stands as a place to honour the service and sacrifice of Victorians and Australians in war, peacemaking and peacekeeping, and as a site of national, state and cultural significance.
