This service commemorates the 18 lives lost on 12 June 1996.
On this date, the 5th Aviation Regiment and SASR were performing a live-fire training exercise when 2 Blackhawk helicopters collided. 15 members of the SASR and 3 from the 5th Aviation Regiment lost their lives in the accident. It is Australia's worst peacetime military aviation disaster.
