Last Post Service: War Animal Day

Honour the contribution of war animals who have given their loyalty and their lives.

In recognition of War Animal Day (24 February), this service will pay tribute to the remarkable deeds and sacrifices of animals in times of war. 

Throughout history, animals have served as indispensable assets in various roles, including transport, messengers, protectors, mascots, support animals, and cherished pets. Their vital contributions have left an indelible mark on every conflict involving Australians.

A variety of service animals and their handlers will be in attendance, and the service will conclude with the release of homing pigeons.

Visitors and their (leashed) four-legged friends are welcome to join us
