Join us in celebrating the inspiring story of Vera Deakin—Founder of the Australian Wounded and Missing Inquiry Bureau.

During the First World War, Vera Deakin established an organisation devoted to finding information on behalf of the relatives of Australian soldiers fighting at Gallipoli. At its peak, the Bureau was working with up to 25,000 requests for information a year.

In this talk, you'll learn about Vera’s courage and determination from Carole Woods, author of Vera Deakin and the Red Cross. You’ll then have a chance to delve further into Vera’s story in an audience Q&A with some of her descendants.

Guests will also be invited to view a new display featuring some of Vera’s items, shedding further light on her extraordinary service.
