This service remembers all Czech and Slovak people who have served Australia, or those who have served alongside as allies.

Czech- and Slovak-born Australians have a long and proud history of service in the Australian Defence Force. They have also served alongside Australians for over 100 years.

Czechs and Slovaks served at Gallipoli and on the Western Front during the First World War. In the Second World War, they served in Europe, North Africa, the Eastern Front and the Middle East. They were also members of the Czech resistance movement and underground.

In more recent years, those who have come to call Australia home served in Korea, Vietnam and in more recent conflicts.

Shrine Representative:

  • Shrine Governor Colonel John Coulson OAM RFD ED
