While most Australian aircrew served in Royal Australian Air Force squadrons during the Second World War, a small number served in British or other Allied Air Force squadrons. They served across the globe and flew every type of combat and support aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force from 1939 until 1954.

When these men returned to Australia after the war, they had no association they could join to reunite and remember. They took on the name of Odd Bods and formed an association in 1947 for all those who had served with allied squadrons.

Each year the Friends of the Odd Bods hold a service on Victory in Europe Day to remember all those who served with allied air forces during the Second World War.

Shrine Representative: Shrine Governor Squadron Leader Peter Meehan OAM (Retd)
