Join us to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.

VE Day marks the Allies' formal acceptance of Germany's surrender, ending the war in Europe. It meant an end to nearly six years of a war with celebrations taking place across the world. However, it was not the end of the conflict as the war against Japan did not end until August 1945.

Each year the Friends of the Odd Bods hold a service on VE Day to remember all those who served with allied air forces during the Second World War. While most Australian aircrew served in Royal Australian Air Force squadrons, a small number served in British or other Allied Air Force squadrons from 1939 until 1954.

When these men returned to Australia after the war, they had no association they could join to reunite and remember. They took on the name of Odd Bods and formed an association in 1947.

This service will be supported by RSL Victoria.
