On the closest Sunday to Remembrance Day each year, a service takes place to remember the service and sacrifice of Gurkha regiment. From the area of Nepal, the Gurkhas fought alongside Australians during the First World War. This included at Gallipoli, where they were among the first to arrive and last to leave.
The Gurkha memorial plaque was dedicated on Remembrance Day in 2007 and lies near the Legacy Garden in the Shrine Reserve.
While our doors are temporarily closed we will continue to honour the service and sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of Victorians.
Our services are streamed via Facebook, but you do not need to be a member to view.
