Pause, Reflect, Remember
Gather at the Shrine of Remembrance every Sunday at 4:45pm for the Last Post Service—a weekly tradition honouring wartime service and sacrifice.
This family-friendly event features stirring bugle calls, bagpipes, wreath-laying, and the lowering of flags, creating a poignant moment for visitors of all ages to reflect and connect. Each service commemorates a different event from Australia's military history.
Whether you're a local or a visitor, the Last Post Service offers a meaningful way to engage with history and share a timeless experience together.
Upcoming Last Post Services include:
- 05 July - NAIDOC Week, 50 Years of Deadly
- 12 July - Commemorating the anniversary of the Commonwealth Naval Forces formally becoming the Royal Australian Navy
- 19 July - Operation Anode
Conflict: Solomon Islands
- 26 July - Recognising the work of the Anzac Agency and Commonwealth War Graves Commission
Join us for a free curator led tour of Eucalypts of Hodogaya as part of Open House Melbourne weekend prior to the service.
The Last Post Service is supported by the Victorian Government.
