Eunice, Valda and Maxwell Chinn

Three of the Chinn siblings served in the Second World War. Eunice Chinn was born in Melbourne in 1920. In 1942, she enlisted for service with the Australian Women’s Army Service (AWAS). She worked as a telegraphist with Australian Army Signal Corps until her discharge in 1945.

Her younger sister Valda, born 1923, served in the Royal Australian Airforce as an aircraftwoman. Younger brother Maxwell, born 1925, served in the Second Australian Imperial Force and with the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces in Japan.
