Teacher-Led Tours

School visits are free. (Donations welcome.)

In the first instance, Guided Programs are recommended to provide students with an optimal experience of the Shrine. You are welcome to add a Teacher-led Tour before or after any Guided Program if you would like more time to explore. A stand-alone Teacher-led Tour may also be a good option if you have a fixed window of time for visiting the Shrine and if there are no Guided Program availabilities.

The Galleries of Remembrance contain honest depictions of war and the Shrine, as a whole, raises issues and themes which some students may find upsetting. We strongly recommend that teachers use caution in conducting Teacher-led Tours, especially for primary school-aged children, and we require that all students are actively supervised at all times.

Teacher-led Tours run for up to 60 minutes and sessions begin at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm. Please note that School visits are not available on public holidays or on the following planned maintenance day dates:

  • Monday 18th February
  • Monday 8th July
  • Monday 21st October
  • Digger for a Day (date TBC)

Book online with instant email confirmation for a maximum of three class groups, or 75 students, per session. If fewer than three class group bookings are available for a given session this means another school has already booked some or all places allotted for that time. If you need to make a large or complex booking please contact us.

Planning your excursion details essential information about your visit including our safety and venue statement.
