SUMMER 2019: Flowers of war: Exploring the Shrine's Gardens

Monday 14 January - Friday 18 January, 11.30am-12.30pm
Monday 21 January - Friday 25 January, 11.30am-12.30pm

RemembranceDay2018_0600_sml.jpgJoin us as we explore the Shrine's gardens and courtyards. Learn about the various plants and flowers and think about the different ways they have been used as symbols of remembrance. Throughout the First World War and in the years since, brooches, medals, pins and badges have been worn to remember loved ones. Get crafty following the tour In a hands-on session where you can make a floral symbol or brooch.

For primary school-aged children. Participants are invited to attend the 12.30pm Ray of Light service in the Sanctuary. Bookings essential.

(Programs can be adapted for larger groups upon request, such as council-run vacation care programs.)
