WINTER 2019: Flowers of war

Monday 1–Friday 5 July, 11.30am–12.30pm
Monday 8–Friday 12 July, 11.30am–12.30pm

Untitled-1.jpgLet's explore the gardens and courtyards together. Discover how flowers and plants have been used as symbols of remembrance. Throughout the First World War and in the years since, brooches, medals, pins and badges have been worn to remember loved ones. In a craft session following the tour, participants will have the opportunity to design a poster for this year's Remembrance Day Poster Competition. The theme for 2019 is Flowers of war. Find out more about our special Flowers of war exhibition and to draw inspiration for entries, here.

Suitable for primary school-aged children. Participants are invited to attend the 12.30pm Ray of Light service in the Sanctuary. Free program. Bookings essential.

(Programs can be adapted for larger groups upon request, such as council-run vacation care programs.)
