Media activities at the Shrine and how to make enquiries for Shrine events and exhibitions.
The Shrine of Remembrance Act (1978) grants the Shrine Trustees the power to control use of the Shrine of Remembrance’s image. Applications to use the Shrine’s image for any purpose are to be received not less than five business days prior to the proposed use.
‘News of the Day’ conducted by media organisations accredited in Australia is exempt from the approvals process unless activities are proposed on or within the Shrine monument, in the adjoining courtyards, or involves the use of any vehicle (including drones).
Media organisations conducting ‘News of the Day’ activities are encouraged to contact Shrine marketing staff as a courtesy prior to any activity.
Any contractor engaged by media organisations to perform an activity within the Shrine Reserve must obtain the prior written consent of the Shrine Trustees to perform the activity and provide a copy of their public liability insurance. They may also be required to undergo a site induction.
There are many events and exhibitions that take place at the Shrine throughout the year.
- Anzac Day
- Remembrance Day
- Last Post services
- other commemorative services
- wreath laying ceremonies
- exhibition launches.
