Filming and Image Use
The Shrine of Remembrance Act (1978) grants Shrine Trustees the authority to regulate the use of the Shrine’s image. If you wish to use the Shrine’s image for any purpose, you must submit an application at least five business days before the proposed use.
News Media Exemptions
Accredited Australian media conducting ‘News of the Day’ coverage do not require prior approval unless:
- Filming occurs on or within the Shrine monument or courtyards.
- A vehicle (including drones) is used.
As a courtesy, we encourage media to inform the Shrine Marketing team before any filming.
Contractors & Insurance
Any contractor engaged by media organisations for activities within the Shrine Reserve must:
- Obtain prior written consent from the Shrine Trustees.
- Provide proof of public liability insurance.
- Undergo a site induction, if required.
