Embark on an exciting journey these school holidays with Let's Go Plane Spotting

Dive into the captivating world of 'plane spotting' during the Second World War, where volunteers, particularly women and children, played vital roles in reporting air traffic sightings. Explore history through engaging card games and recreate the iconic Spitfire plane!

You and your children can play 'Snap' or 'Memory Match Up' with plane-themed spotting cards, both popular card activities during the Second World War. You can also create a cardboard cutout of a Spitfire plane.

To enhance your experience, visit the Toys, Tales & Tenacity exhibition, which complements this activity. Explore plane-related toys and board games from wartimes or discover the inspiring story of Irene Jones and her family's contributions to plane spotting.

Alternatively, search through the Shrine Galleries to discover plane-related items on display or check out Trenches to Runway for a glimpse of aviator sunglasses and bomber jackets.

It's a holiday adventure not to be missed!

Please note, this activity is taking place on weekdays only
